How can I connect with other attendees?

Connecting with other people in the room is one of the most valuable parts of a summit. We're still experimenting with the best ways to make that happen, and the specifics can vary from summit to summit.

Check the summit website first

Each summit has its own setup for networking and community connection. Visit the website for the summit you're attending to see what's currently active. The platform we use is regularly adding new features, and we'll be trying different combinations of them over time to see what works best.

What you might find at any given summit

Depending on what we're running for that particular summit, networking and discussion options may include:

  • Session chats and discussion. Conversations attached to individual sessions, sometimes carrying on after the session itself has ended.
  • An event lobby. A central, ongoing space across the whole summit for community discussion, similar to a chat platform. Where this is enabled, you can join topic-based channels and connect with other attendees in real time.
  • Direct messaging. Where available, you can connect privately with other attendees, speakers, or team members. This is opt-in.
  • Attendee directory. Where available, attendees can opt in to a searchable directory, making it easier to find people working in similar areas. Email addresses are never displayed.
  • Live networking moments. Some summits may include scheduled live sessions or networking events. Check the agenda for anything happening in real time.

Community spaces have ground rules

All Futureative community spaces are governed by our code of conduct and our terms and conditions. Participation in chats, direct messages, the event lobby, and any other community feature is on the basis that you'll engage respectfully and within those guidelines.

Join the Front Row community

Beyond individual summits, our wider community lives at Front Row, our Substack publication. We sometimes run discussions and conversations there in parallel with summit weeks, and it's the most reliable way to stay connected with the broader Futureative community between summits.

You can join Front Row at futureative.substack.com.

A note on community spaces

We approach community carefully. We'd rather offer a few well-tended spaces than a flood of channels that don't go anywhere. As we experiment with different formats, your feedback shapes what we keep and what we change.

If you have suggestions for how we could improve networking and community for our summits, email hello@futureative.com.
